Gary Konecny
Gary is a long-time paddler who lives in Northwest Indiana. He is on the Board of the Northwest
Indiana Paddling Association (NWIPA) performing the role of Secretary. Gary is one of the
founding members and is on the Board of the Indiana Paddlesports Alliance (IPA) acting as the
current President. Gary belongs to numerous paddling clubs in the state including NWIPA,
Hoosier Canoe and Kayak Club and Paddle Michiana. He has paddled extensively in Indiana,
Michigan, Illinois, Florida, Alabama and Missouri.
Sara Hare
Sara is a long-time paddler based in southeastern Indiana. While she loves to paddle her local
rivers, in particular Muscatatuck River and Otter Creek located near North Vernon, she also
loves to paddle in Florida, Michigan, and Missouri. This photo shows the beauty of Otter Creek.
Dan Valleskey
Dan Valleskey has been paddling for about 40 years, he has paddled at destinations from Idaho to
Florida, Maine to Michigan, most of the popular whitewater runs in the SE., and all OVER Indiana.
Past Skipper of the Hoosier Canoe Club, past President of Friends of the White River. Sat on the
IDNR Trails Advisory Board for two terms, as the paddle sports representative. Member of most of
the Indiana groups at one time or another. Dan is one of the founding members, and sits on the
Board, of the Indiana Paddlesports Alliance.
